China's retail & wholesale value rises 5.8% in Q1 2025
The added value of China's wholesale and retail trade grew by 5.8 per cent YoY to reach 3.3 trillion yuan ($457.98 billion), or 10.4 per cent of the country's GDP, in Q1 2025, official statistics show. The retail sales of goods reached 11 trillion yuan ($1.5 trillion) in the quarter—a YoY rise of 4.6 per cent. The transaction volume of industrial consumer goods markets rose by 0.8 per cent YoY.
