Chicago’s Three Michelin Starred Alinea Is Coming To Beverly Hills This Summer

Alinea is turning 20—and bringing the celebration to Beverly Hills. This summer, the iconic three-Michelin-star restaurant from Chicago will stage a rare culinary residency at The Maybourne Beverly Hills from July 22 to August 16, marking the third stop on its 20th Anniversary Tour following sold-out engagements in Brooklyn and Miami Beach.

For Chef Grant Achatz and The Alinea Group, the residency is more than a celebration—it’s a creative homecoming. “Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with incredible people—from our team to our farmers, purveyors, and peers around the world,” said Achatz. “This tour is our way of honoring those relationships and reconnecting with the broader culinary community that’s shaped us.”

The Beverly Hills engagement will not attempt to replicate the Alinea flagship, but rather reimagine it through the lens of Southern California’s bounty. Known for his boundary-pushing techniques and immersive dining experiences, Achatz will collaborate with local chefs and artisans to create a new menu that highlights both Alinea’s unmistakable identity and the unique terroir of Los Angeles. The result? A rare, one-of-a-kind dinner series that blends creative precision with West Coast soul.

Set within the refined elegance of The Maybourne Beverly Hills, the residency will offer guests a front-row seat to Alinea’s next chapter. While signature elements of the Chicago flagship will remain, including a selection of Alinea’s most iconic dishes, each city on the tour promises at least one new creation inspired by the local culture. The goal: to push the boundaries of what fine dining can be while paying homage to the people and places that make each city special.

Beverly Hills also holds personal meaning for Achatz, whose deep affinity for the city’s artistic energy and openness to innovation makes this a fitting setting for the celebration. “Los Angeles has long been a place that welcomes reinvention,” he says. “It mirrors the kind of evolution we’re excited to explore.”

The tour also brings with it two of The Alinea Group’s acclaimed cocktail concepts: The Aviary, known for its theatrical approach to cocktails (including its best-in-class non-alcoholic program), and The Office, a speakeasy-style bar beloved for its rare spirits and bespoke service.

While the anniversary marks a milestone for Alinea, Achatz sees it as something bigger. “If we do this right, it becomes more than a celebration—it becomes a love letter to the industry,” he says. “This is about gratitude. About community. And about pushing forward, together.”
