Nothing says spring in New York like a fabulous hat—and nowhere are they on more glorious display than at the Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon, affectionately known as the “Central Park Hat Party.” Hosted by the Central Park Conservancy’s Women’s Committee, the 43rd annual event turned the Conservatory Garden into a runway of creativity and color, just in time to inspire your summer style.
From sculptural fascinators to wide-brimmed classics decked in silk blooms, the hats at this invitation-only event were as bold and beautiful as the cause. While the thousand guests sipped champagne and admired each other’s headwear, they also helped raise over $4 million for the care and restoration of Central Park. It’s no ordinary party—it’s the city’s most elegant outdoor fundraiser, combining fashion, philanthropy, and civic pride.
The Women’s Committee, a 1,000-member strong organization of dedicated park supporters, has raised over $200 million since its founding in 1983. This year’s event, co-chaired by Ranika Cohen, Bonnie Comley, Jenna Segal, and Julia Power Weld, brought energy and elegance to the afternoon.
The luncheon honored Jenny Price for her outstanding contributions to the Conservancy and included a special tribute to the late Norma T. Dana. Dana, a founding member of the Women’s Committee, was remembered for her visionary leadership and lifelong commitment to Central Park.
As summer approaches, let this iconic garden party be your guide to seasonal style—and a reminder that the best fashion statements are the ones that give back. Whether you’re donning feathers, flowers, or vintage flair, there’s no better place to find inspiration than New York’s most stylish celebration for a cause.
