Cadillac is Launching a Uniquely Luxurious Dining Experience in Its Cars

No drive-thru here. Eating in a Cadillac is turning into a fancy affair.

What's the fanciest meal you've eaten inside a car? Burgers? Fries? Perhaps once, you've had some Chipotle with extra guac and extra chicken from the comfort of your driver's seat.

Personally, I abide by the Phil Leotardo rule that there's no eating inside the car, but General Motors' premier luxury brand, Cadillac, thinks otherwise. It wants to turn one of its poshest new rides, the all-electric Escalade IQ, into a worthy venue for the absolute best wining and dining in some of America's hottest food cities, including some Michelin Guide-recognized restaurants that are Dorsia-levels of difficulty to reserve.

The "Cadillac of Reservations" is exactly what it sounds like

One of the cool features inside Cadillac's posh Escalade IQ EV is the available rear-mounted, stowable tray tables in the second row. Though some passengers may find this feature as a nice place to put a laptop during an extended car ride, Cadillac feels it is the appropriate setting for a fancy gourmet meal.

Dubbed the "Cadillac of Reservations," Cadillac is offering a handful of diners the opportunity to have a truly unique dining experience at some of America's most hyped establishments in the comfort of the Escalade IQ's backseat. Though one may think fast food, Cadillac is partnering with some proper eateries in Beverly Hills, Miami, and San Francisco to serve up five-course dinners to backseat diners.

Although the back seat of an electric Cadillac SUV sounds like an odd venue for an expensive five-course dinner, Cadillac digresses. The available second-row tray tables are part of an extra-cost package called the Executive Seating package, which provides additional luxuries, including 14-way power heated, ventilated, and massaging seats and an AKG 40-speaker (yes, forty; four-zero) sound system for a more intimate setting than any "private room" can offer.

Cadillac first offered this experience at the Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognized COQODAQ back in January 2025, where lucky patrons were able to chomp down on the establishment's signature Korean-style fried chicken dishes from the comfort of the Escalade IQ's backseat, including its notable Better Fried Chicken and caviar box. Cadillac says that this "immersive" experience also featured "a song pairing for each dish" that played through the sound system and "a virtual fireplace displayed on the available rear infotainment screens" for a truly luxurious meal.

The Cadillac of Reservations is going to some top-rated places, including Michelin-starred establishments.

The automaker is bringing the "Cadillac of Reservations" experience to more restaurants, starting on April 24, 25, and 26 at La Dolce Vita in Beverly Hills, a historic Italian-American eatery known for being a favorite spot for Hollywood elite like Frank Sinatra, Tom Ford, and the Reagans. As per Cadillac, the La Dolce Vita's menu pays homage to classic dishes like spaghetti and meatballs and branzino piccata with a contemporary touch by incorporating imported ingredients directly from Italy, seasonal California produce, as well as cured and fermented goods made in-house.

If Italian isn't your cup of tea, and/or you live in Miami, Cadillac is bringing the 'Reservation' experience to the Miami outpost of the one Michelin-starred COTE, COQODAQ's sister restaurant, in "early summer." According to the Michelin Guide, COTE is a Korean Barbeque experience described as "a temple to beautifully marbled and aged beef," as its menu is a smattering of premium ingredients that include dry-aged prime cuts, as well as A5 Wagyu from three different prefectures of Japan.

However, if you prefer something a little less meat-intensive and/or you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Cadillac of Reservations experience will come to San Francisco's one Michelin-starred State Bird Provisions, a restaurant that describes itself as "without any programmed elements." The Michelin Guide notes that "getting a reservation here is a challenge," however, Cadillac says that its "late summer" visit here will be "the ultimate hors d'oeuvres party" in the Escalade IQ, as its "inventive cuisine" will be served on carts and trays akin to Chinese dim sum.

Final thoughts

Whether or not you want to enjoy the fare of a fine restaurant inside a Cadillac Escalade IQ is a matter of taste. All meals will be fully covered by Cadillac, so we suppose the challenge will be in clicking the reserve button faster than others. The reservations for the first stop in Cadillac's dining journey, La Dolce Vita, open on April 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM PST. It's a unique experience for sure, although we'll have to see if it brings the automaker any significant sales boosts.
