Beijing criticises latest US port fee plan targeting Chinese ships
As the US announced new port fees for Chinese-built and -operated vessels that will take effect from October, China’s foreign ministry said imposing port fees and additional tariffs on cargo handling equipment harm interests of both others and the US. “It raises global shipping costs, disrupts supply chain stability, and increases inflationary pressures in the US," a ministry spokesperson said.
