Altruist Dermatologist Sun & Skincare Brand Makes Major Tesco Debut

THE WHAT? Altruist, the dermatologist-developed sun and skincare range created by Dr Andrew Birnie, is set to launch in Tesco stores across the UK from 17 March 2025. The move sees eight different Altruist SKUs join the supermarket’s personal care aisle, as well as an additional listing of its popular SPF 30 in further stores.

THE DETAILS 

• A total of 179 Tesco locations will feature Altruist’s core SPF 50 line-up, including Face Fluid SPF 50, Primer SPF 50, Invisible Sunspray SPF 50, and the Family Sun Spray SPF 50.

• Altruist SPF 30 will appear in a further 74 stores, bringing sun protection to 256 Tesco outlets in total.

• Founded a decade ago, Altruist aims to provide high-quality, affordable products to everyone, with formulations spanning SPFs, body lotions and targeted skincare treatments.

• Each product sold includes a 10p donation to support the wellbeing of vulnerable people with albinism in Africa.

THE WHY? Altruist’s mission is rooted in combating the rise of skin cancer by removing barriers to SPF use through affordability and quality. With this new Tesco listing, the brand hopes to broaden its reach, deliver on its people-before-profit ethos, and safeguard more consumers from harmful sun exposure.
