AIMS Metrology Brings 5-Axis CMM and New FlexGauge Technology to PMTS 2025

The global precision machining market is expected to grow 8.1 percent this year, driven by demand for automation, Industry 4.0 adoption, and sustainable manufacturing. Coordinate measuring machines (CMM) continue to play a key role in precision machining processes by helping manufacturers achieve high accuracy in parts production and integrate data collection with Industry 4.0 technologies.

AIMS Metrology, an OEM for CMMs and gauging products, will demonstrate its mobile HB fitted with a Renishaw 5-axis PH20 probe head, the Revolution FlexGauge T25 and CMI fixture gauging at Booth 2109 at the Precision Machining Technology Show in Cleveland, Ohio.

“The more precise the parts the more critical your process control has to be,” says Thomas Ayers, sales and business development director (Southeast) for AIMS. “With tight tolerance work, you are required to have high-precision inspection equipment and methods to ensure your parts meet specifications.  More and more facilities are now using machine tool feedback from manufacturing cells in order to make real time adjustments to parts and maintain quality control.  For automated, lights-out production, this system can perform its own adjustments while machining the parts.”

AIMS’ HB, fitted with Renishaw’s 5-axis PH20, can be placed on or near a production line to provide dimensional verification and process flow monitoring in real time. FlexGauge, a shop floor flexible gauging system, is suited to applications that require tactile scanning for small, high-precision parts and high-speed manufacturing.

In addition to being a single source provider that builds and assembles its CMMs in the U.S., AIMS has an in-house service group and application team that allows it to customize the right inspection and intelligence-gathering tools to a job shop or

fabricator’s needs. That includes programming, custom holding fixtures, tooling, automation, service and support.

About AIMS

AIMS’ Revolution Series 5-axis coordinate measuring machines (CMM) provide the metal fabrication market with multisensor inspection and intelligence-gathering tools.  Exclusively supported by Renishaw’s 5-axis probe systems and open-source platform technology, AIMS’ LM, HB and Summit 10.10.10 deliver the power, accuracy and throughput companies need to meet critical production demands for small to large-sized in-process and post process parts. The single source supplier builds and assembles its machines in the U.S. An in-house service group and application team tailors each CMM to a job shop or fabricator’s needs, including programming, custom holding fixtures, tooling and automation. CMM-Manager and MODUS, give companies additional flexibility to optimize data collection with the right software solution. AIMS’ aftermarket service and support technicians partner with manufacturers to help maintain uptime. Machine retrofits and refurbished equipment are also available. AIMS is ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certified for calibration services by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board.
