Mobile and individual logistics solutions
At the ACD Elektronik booth 4F77 in Hall 4, everything revolves around mobile solutions for logistics. One of these solutions is the MAX Mobile Workstation. For more than 20 years, it has been making work in the warehouse and incoming goods department more efficient and simplifying processes considerably. It is also constantly adapted to the changing requirements of different working environments and to the individual needs of the users in their daily work.
With its independent power supply, it ensures that even work that normally requires a stationary power supply can be carried out on the move and directly at the goods. The mobile workstation saves the user a considerable amount of time and also significantly reduces the potential for errors. In order to keep pace with the growing challenges of modern working environments, mobile workstations are also being continuously developed. The latest MAX, the MAX Black Edition (MAX BE), is now available in different performance classes and with lead-acid or Li-ion batteries. The Li-ion variants in particular impress with their low overall weight and the option of recharging the batteries. In addition, the built-in Li-ion batteries are maintenance-free despite their long service life. Furthermore, ACD Elektronik is constantly developing new accessories for our MAX BE so that customers can put together their individual mobile workstation that is perfectly tailored to their needs. One of the latest features for the MAX BE is the electric height adjustment, which enables ergonomic working even in the warehouse or goods receiving area, as well as the rotating full-extension runner. This makes it possible to rotate a printer placed on the pull-out by a full 360° after the full extension has been pulled out. The rotatable full extension makes changing a label or roll of paint much easier and the printer no longer needs to be adjusted or moved.
Not only the MAX BE Mobile Workstation, but also the other products from the division Logistic Solutions are designed to make processes more efficient. For example, our vehicle mount terminals from the MFT1xSE series. These are not only robust and freezer-compatible, making them suitable for use in demanding and harsh working environments, but can also be equipped with an optional integrated battery on request. With a runtime of up to 1.5 hours, the battery enables the terminals to be operated even without a continuous power supply from the forklift truck. Other highlights at the booth include the ergonomic wearable scanners from the HasciSE series and the mobile handhelds M2Smart®SE and M270SE. The wearable scanners are available with three different imager variants with different scanning ranges and can be easily, ergonomically and comfortably attached to the back of the hand. The M2Smart®SE, on the other hand, is an award-winning mobile handheld that can be used for a wide range of different processes thanks to its modular design and the option of attaching different modules to the handheld using a quick-change system. ACD Elektronik’s logistics portfolio is rounded off by the classic M270SE handheld, a robust all-rounder with a fast-entry keyboard and ten freely assignable function keys, which was developed for scanning and picking work in warehouses and goods receiving.
Mobile and wireless operation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs)
The focus at ACD Elektronik’s second booth 8G34 in Hall 8, on the other hand, is on the mobile operation and control of AGVs, robots and industrial systems and machines. With the TÜV-certified M2Smart® HMI operating system, ACD Elektronik has launched a touch-based, mobile and wireless system, which was developed in particular for the safe and secure control of AGVs and has significant advantages over conventional operating systems. The M2Smart® HMI enables fast interaction with any vehicle within a fleet, directly on site at the AGV. In production halls and dynamic warehouse environments in particular, a mobile HMI prevents costly delays and saves time, as problems or malfunctions can be rectified directly on the vehicle.
Our M2Smart® HMI is connected quickly and easily via an NFC tag to a gateway, the M2Smart® Gateway, connected to the AGV’s control system. The NFC tag can be attached to the AGV at different points, allowing the user to establish the connection between the HMI and the AGV quickly, ergonomically and efficiently. This pairing method also allows employees to switch between different AGVs with little effort. It also enables the employee to operate and monitor several vehicles in quick succession. To ensure data security, the M2Smart® HMI system from ACD Elektronik transmits data wirelessly via two different paths. The transmission of safety-related data takes place via a BT compatible short-range radio secured by a black channel. This ensures data security even with mobile data transmission and a performance level d can be achieved. The non-safety-related data, for example for visualization via browser, app or web app, can be transmitted via two different radio links with our M2Smart® HMI system. Either also via BT compatible short-range radio or via WiFi. Therefore an existing WiFi can be used or, alternatively, the M2Smart® HMI access points, which are attached to the vehicles and ensure a permanently stable connection. The option of using both BT compatible short-range radio and WiFi to transfer non-safety-related data ensures that the M2Smart® HMI remains as flexible as possible and can be used in almost any work environment, particularly in automotive manufacturing or for controlling robots. To ensure that our mobile HMI meets industrial safety standards, it is of course equipped with an illuminated emergency stop button.
