The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) kicked off The Miami Open in grand style with an exclusive dinner celebrating women in fashion, art, and design. Held at The Rubell Museum on March 17, the event brought together top WTA athletes, fashion icons, and cultural influencers. Hosted by tennis stars Ajla Tomljanović and Donna Vekić, alongside supermodel Joan Smalls and award-winning Chef Valerie Chang, the night was a fusion of sports, culture, and culinary excellence.

The dinner underscored the WTA’s ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment, spotlighting trailblazers from various creative fields. Chef Valerie Chang, Miami’s first female James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: South, curated a globally inspired menu that delighted attendees. The event also marked the launch of the WTA’s fresh new rebrand, unveiled on February 27, which includes a revamped logo and the inspiring “Rally the World” campaign.

An array of distinguished guests attended, including WTA CEO Portia Archer, supermodels Chanel Iman and Karolína Kurková, and fashion entrepreneur Laure Hériard Dubreuil of The Webster. The event also welcomed tennis greats such as Daria Saville, Gabriela Dabrowski, Camila Osorio, and Rennae Stubbs, further blending the worlds of sport and style.

The WTA’s rebrand will be showcased throughout The Miami Open, reinforcing the organization’s mission to unite athletes and fans under a bold new vision. With a legacy dating back to its founding by Billie Jean King in 1973, the WTA continues to drive progress in women’s sports. The Hologic WTA Tour engages over a billion fans worldwide, with top players competing for PIF WTA ranking points across six continents.

Beyond the courts, the WTA champions initiatives that promote women’s health and empowerment, aligning with its mission to inspire change globally. WTA Ventures, the commercial arm of the organization, has also played a crucial role in driving growth. Since its launch in 2023, it has boosted revenue by 25%, setting new records in women’s tennis.

The Miami Open is set to be a thrilling showcase of athletic excellence, amplified by the WTA’s continued efforts to elevate women’s sports. The kickoff dinner was a testament to the powerful intersection of tennis, fashion, and culture, proving once again that the WTA is more than just a sports organization—it’s a movement.
