When something called “The Whisky Hotel” opens up, there are expectations that come with the name — namely, high-end whisky. But will whisky enthusiasts be excited by the selections on offer at Hollywood’s highly anticipated property? In this case, dear readers, taste is subjective — and you’ll have to decide for yourself. But first… a bit about the hotel itself.

The Whisky Hotel made its debut in the heart of Hollywood, at the intersection of Wilcox and Hollywood Blvd, this March. This whisky-inspired destination is an adults-only property, concepted and designed from the ground up by celebrated restaurateur and hotelier Adolfo Suaya, the visionary behind Gaucho Grill and a portfolio of renowned hospitality concepts. In addition to impeccable hospitality, guests can expect an extensive collection of rare and vintage whiskies, as the hotel pays homage to the spirit from which it takes its name.
Blending Old World charm with Hollywood glamour, every detail of the hotel is a beacon for design enthusiasts, whisky connoisseurs, and travelers seeking an elevated experience. Each element has been hand-sourced by Suaya, from the collection of European artwork on the walls, to Parisian bistro stools at the rooftop bar, to the vintage rotary phones in each room. There’s also a rooftop that offers nearly 360-degree views of Hollywood’s skyline.
Right now, there’s a curated whisky selection on offer in the lobby, in anticipation of the adjacent bar set to open in the next few months. In addition to the lobby bar, guests can except two exciting culinary concepts to open on property as well. This will include a rooftop dining destination, as well as an intimate street level restaurant for both guests and destination diners alike.
But now, let’s get down to brass tacks. We asked Suaya what his most exclusive and rarest available whiskies were. These are his picks.
