UK fiscal outlook deteriorates since government’s Autumn Budget: OBR
The UK fiscal outlook has ‘deteriorated’ since the Autumn Budget, an Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) analysis found. Real UK GDP grew by 0.9 per cent in 2024, 0.2 pp lower than anticipated in October. OBR now expects a 1-per cent growth this year. OBR’s central forecast has GDP growth accelerating to 1.9 per cent in 2026, and then averaging 1.8 per cent a year over the rest of the forecast.
