About the Vineyards
The wine tasting will be a journey through the Grand Cru vineyards of Bordeaux, featuring Château Haut-Brion—one of the oldest and most prestigious wine estates in the world. Located in the heart of Bordeaux’s Pessac-Léognan region, this estate benefits from an ideal climate and renowned gravelly soils, which produce wines with refined minerality and depth. Hand-harvested grapes and traditional vinification methods result in wines known for their structure and complexity. Expect wines featuring earthy notes of graphite, a cigar box, and dark berries.
Equally esteemed, Château Pétrus from Bordeaux’s Right Bank epitomizes opulence and depth. Perched atop a rare blue clay plateau, the estate’s distinctive terroir produces wines of remarkable intensity and elegance. Produced exclusively from Merlot and aged in French oak for an extended period, Pétrus is meticulously crafted to ensure unparalleled quality. These wines feature a velvety texture and rich flavor profiles of black plum, truffle, and mocha, and are celebrated for their exceptional longevity and depth.
Featured Wines
This exclusive tasting will showcase an exceptional selection of wines, beginning with the distinguished 1995 Château Haut-Brion 1er Cru Classé. On the nose, this wine showcases notes of blackcurrant, truffle, cedar, and graphite intertwined, leading to a palate rich with concentrated dark fruits, aged leather, and a touch of black pepper. The finish is long, savory, and mineral-driven, a testament to the estate’s renowned terroir. Complementing this vintage, the 1999 Château Haut-Brion 1er Cru Classé presents an elegant bouquet of red currants, violets, and pencil shavings. Silky cherries, tobacco, and iron minerality define the palate, culminating in a smooth, lingering finish accented by delicate spice notes.
From Bordeaux’s Right Bank, the 2008 Château Pétrus Pomerol delivers remarkable intensity with earthy and rich aromas of dark berries and violets. Its powerful palate is layered with black plum, cassis, and truffle, while smoky minerality extends through the deeply structured finish. The 2012 Château Pétrus Pomerol follows with a more refined expression, offering ripe blueberries, floral hints, and graphite on the nose. Black cherry and dark chocolate unfold on the palate, complemented by silky tannins and a finish of elegant depth.
Concluding the tasting is the illustrious 2015 Château d’Yquem 1er Grand Cru Classé Supérieur, a crown jewel of Sauternes. Lush aromas of apricot, honeycomb, and saffron give way to luxurious layers of tropical fruit, crème brûlée, and vanilla on the palate. The finish lingers with a honeyed richness elevated by exotic spice notes.
