Large market swings aren’t new for the city; Austin has been through booms and busts for decades. But today, as a dwindling number of buyers move to Texas, the market is left in a precarious position: Prices are falling, people are leaving, and homebuilders are struggling to offload inventory. 

That said, there are still plenty of luxury buyers in the tech-savvy city. From large Texas estates to high-end new builds, people are in the market for extravagance. Here were the most expensive home sales in Austin in May, according to data from Redfin
