Mumbai launches India’s largest International Cruise terminal

India marked a major milestone in its maritime infrastructure with the launch of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT), the country’s largest and first international cruise terminal. Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the 5560 million facility on Monday, officially commencing operations under the government’s ambitious Cruise Bharat Mission. Spanning 38554 sqm, MICT is designed to handle 10,000 passengers per day and up to 1 million annually. The terminal features 72 check-in and immigration counters over two passenger-dedicated floors, while the upper levels will house commercial spaces.
