Seeing 1,500 exhibitors and 9,500 visitors attend over three days, Millésime BIO is celebrating a successful edition of its 2025 show.

Held from 27-29 January, the three-day organic wine and alcoholic drinks exhibition – billed as the world's largest – brought together 1,500 wine producers from 16 countries. For its 32nd annual fair, Millésime BIO attracted 9,500 trade professionals from around 50 countries worldwide, creating opportunities to participate in tastings and engage in conversations with producers, marketers, and trade buyers. Of the 9,500 visitors, 80% attended locally, with 20% counting for international trade personnel. Since its launch in 1993, Millésime Bio has become a key trade event in the calendar for organic wine producers. This year, the fair addressed the industry's present challenges, including pressure on disposable incomes and geopolitical uncertainties, while celebrating its continuing growth. Attended by wine merchants, sommeliers, wholesalers, importers, and specialist buyers, the fair offered reassurance about international market dynamics, particularly for French exhibitors focusing on export markets. Indeed, as Jeanne Fabre, president of the fair's organising committee, explained in a podcast with the drinks business editor-in-chief Patrick Schmitt MW, organic wine may be better placed than other sectors to weather international market storms.

Competition winners garlanded

Returning for its second year, the 'La biodiversité, c’est mon domaine' competition was held at Millésime BIO in collaboration with Vitisbio magazine, the Hérault Chamber of Agriculture, and the Bird Protection Agency (LPO). The competition aims to highlight the efforts of organic winegrowers to enhance the resilience of winegrowing ecosystems. In 2025, the organisers focused on promoting the numerous benefits of trees in viticulture. These benefits include creating a habitat for beneficial fauna, enriching soils with organic matter, and developing unique micro-climates in single vineyards. The competition awarded gold medals in 2025 to Famille Fabre from the Languedoc, Domaine Paul Meunier based in Roussillon, and Terres Vivantes from Beaujolais. Carrière Pradal from Domaine de la Massole and Domaine de Roquenégade from the Languedoc, as well as Domaine Esprit from Rhone Valley took home silver medals. The competition also recognised Château Anthonic from Bordeaux and Château La Dournie and Domaine les 3 Mazets, both based in Languedoc, with bronze medals. Millésime BIO is an exhibition organised by the SudVinBio association. It brings together 45 marketing companies and 1,100 winegrowers and co-operative members from Occitania in southern France.
