Incidentally Detected Ascending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm and Bicuspid Aortic Valve—Reply

In Reply Dr Butler’s Letter in response to our recent JAMA Clinical Challenge stresses the importance of genetic testing in ascending thoracic aortic aneurysms (ATAAs). We agree that genetic testing is critical and may affect a patient’s treatment plan and outcome. As such, it has become part of the 2022 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines and continues to be a key component of our practice when evaluating ATAAs.
