Germany’s BASF unveil first reduced carbon footprint aroma ingredient

BASF has launched L-Menthol FCC rPCF, its first aroma ingredient with a reduced product carbon footprint (rPCF), cutting emissions by about 10 to 15 per cent. Certified by TÜV Rheinland, the product supports Scope 3 carbon reduction. Colgate-Palmolive is an early adopter, aligning with its 2040 net zero goal. Production uses a mass balance approach at BASF’s Verbund sites.
