THE WHAT?  Frasers Group has confirmed it will not proceed with a takeover bid for UK cosmetics company Revolution Beauty, ending speculation over a potential acquisition.

THE DETAILS The retail group, owned by billionaire Mike Ashley, had previously indicated interest in making an all-cash offer after Revolution Beauty put itself up for sale in May amid ongoing sales challenges. The company, valued at approximately £24.6 million (US$32.95 million), has faced declining performance and governance issues in recent years. Debenhams—now owned by Boohoo Group—is Revolution’s largest shareholder.

THE WHY? Frasers’ decision to step back removes a potential path to recovery for Revolution Beauty, which has been seeking strategic options to reverse its decline. With its largest shareholder tied to a rival retail group, the cosmetics brand’s future remains uncertain as it continues to navigate a competitive and price-sensitive beauty market.
