Nyetimber has been announced as the official sparkling wine of British Cycling, with the partnership set to bring the English producer to the forefront of some of the UK's leading road cycling events.
The deal will see Nyetimber presenting magnums to podium finishers at the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women (5–8 June) and Men (2–7 September), as well as playing a central role in hospitality across British Cycling’s event portfolio. The partnership will also extend to celebratory moments such as the governing body’s annual Awards evening.
Darren Henry, Chief Commercial Officer at British Cycling, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nyetimber on board to join our growing family of valued partners and help to elevate the multitude of joyous moments we must celebrate in our sport. This leading British brand aligns with our values and the excellence we endeavour to bring to everything that we do.”
He added: “We are thrilled Nyetimber will be celebrating riders' accomplishments and supporting our world-class events including the biggest free-to-attend sporting event in the UK; the Lloyds Tour of Britain, and the National Road and Track Championships.”
Eric Heerema, CEO and owner of Nyetimber, commented: “We are really excited to become the Official Sparkling Wine to British Cycling. Nyetimber has a long history of partnering with iconic British sporting institutions, and it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to engage further with cyclists of all abilities across the country.”
“There are a lot of synergies between us as partners, and our DNA shares the same passion, dedication and vibrancy. Nyetimber is all about celebrations, whether big or small - an ethos that is echoed by British Cycling in its encouragement to help everyone achieve and celebrate their goals in the sport,” he said.
Founded over three decades ago, Nyetimber is regarded as a pioneer of English sparkling wine. It exclusively uses estate-grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier across its 11 vineyards in West Sussex, Hampshire, and Kent. The brand has also recently expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of English whisky producer The Lakes Distillery.
Further details of the men’s Tour of Britain route are expected in the coming weeks, while the National Road Championships, taking place from 26–29 June, will be staged in Ceredigion, Wales.
