EGYPTAIR places additional Airbus order
EGYPTAIR has ordered six further Airbus A350-900s at the Paris Air Show, taking its total order to 16, Airbus has confirmed. This follows on from an initial order of ten of the aircraft, announced at the Dubai Airshow 2023. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, Airbus describes the A350-900 as “the cornerstone member” of its A350 family and claims it to be “the world’s most modern and efficient widebody aircraft”. Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR, Captain Ahmed Adel, said that the Airbus order “will enable us to meet rising demand for long-haul travel, support our network expansion plans over the next five years, and contribute to Egypt’s broader efforts to promote more sustainable air transport.” Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus’ executive vice-president for sales of commercial aircraft, said that the A350 “is set to be a pillar in EGYPTAIR’s journey, and we look forward to these aircraft playing a pivotal role in the airline’s continued success, growth and decarbonisation ambition”.
