Deliveroo offers riders access to free 24/7 GP appointments

Deliveroo has become the first instant delivery service to provide its riders with access to free virtual GP appointments.
The platform’s riders can now consult with a UK-registered GP 24/7 over the phone or video, free of charge.
In partnership with insurance firm Chubb and healthcare provider Teladoc Health, the service allows delivery drivers to discuss any medical concerns with a UK-registered GP at a convenient time for them.
It is the latest initiative from Deliveroo as part of its commitment to support rider growth, welfare and development.
Last year, the platform announced a package of 1,500 online educational courses to support riders and their families by broadening their learning and development.
It joins a wider package of benefits, which include free insurance, sickness cover and financial support when riders become new parents.
Deliveroo senior vice president of care and rider Camilla Kater said: “We are proud to lead the way in providing innovative benefits that truly support our riders’ needs.
“By ensuring our riders can access medical advice from a GP 24/7, we’re reinforcing our commitment to rider welfare and setting a new standard for the industry.”
Earlier this month, Deliveroo reported its first annual profit boosted by the company’s retailer tie-ups.
The delivery giant posted a £3m profit for the year to 31 December 2024, compared to its £32m loss in 2023, as grocery sales hit 16% of the business’s group transaction value (GTV) during the second half.
