Laurent and Catherine Delaunay are expanded their Languedoc varietal brand, Les Jamelles, with the launch Les Petites Jamelles at Wine Paris.

The range is tapping into consumer trends for fun, inexpensive wines that provide value for both the on and off-trade, with labels illustrated by a former Hermes designer which highlight a light-hearted, fun side of French wine drinking culture, the company said.
Meanwhile, the range of Abbotts & Delaunay, the Languedoc venture being run by Laurent and Catherine Delaunay’s daughter Jeanne Delaunay, has been redesigned, extended and is now refocused on AOP Languedoc. Jeanne, who represents the 6th generation of Delaunay winemakers, took over running of the boutique winery business from her parents 18 months ago, but also heads up sustainability at the parent company, Delaunay V&D.
Abott & Delaunay is currently growing at 25%, according to the Languedoc Wine Interprofessional Council (CIVL).
Speaking to the drinks business last month, Laurent Delaunay said that the revamping of Abbot & Delaunay had been a big project and that Jeanne, who gained winemaking experience in Sonoma at the Francis Ford Coppola Winery, with Thibault Liger-Belair and Romanée-Conti, in Burgundy and in Australia, at the Coldstream Hills, was bringing “new energy” to the strategy and adopting a “Burgundian approach” to make top quality wines.
The estate totals 37ha overall, comprising 25ha of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Domaine de la Metairie d’Alon in Limoux with a further 12ha in 35ha of vines at and Domaine de la Lause at Monze, which was bought in 2019 and finished conversion to organic production in 2023. The team supplement this by buying in fruit and wines and developing partnerships with growers to put the focus "on terroirs with a strong identity and single vineyards”, Jeanne told the
IWC last year.
New to the range for the UK off-trade are two Languedoc AOPs, a Grenache-Syrah blend and a Grenache Blanc–Vermentino blend - fresh modern wines from diverse vineyard origins.
Laurent and Catherine Delaunay founded the business, previously known as Badet Clément in the Languedoc in 1995 but following the family buying back Edouard Delaunay, the family business in the heart of Burgundy's Côtes de Nuits that was sold by Laurent’s father, it restructured the brands, renaming the business Delaunay Vins & Domaines in 2023. At that point, Jeanne joined the business at Abbotts & Delaunay, with Catherine taking charge of the Les Jamelles brand, and Laurent the Edouard Delaunay business in Burgundy.
