China rail cargo hits 970 mn tonnes in Q1, up 3.1 per cent YoY
In Q1 2025, China’s railway network transported 970 million tonnes of cargo, up 3.1 per cent YoY, with daily loading reaching 179,000 cars (+4.2 per cent). China-Central Asia freight train services surged 25.5 per cent to 3,582 trips. Wuhan launched its first regular freight train to Tashkent. The China-Laos Railway moved 1.51 million tonnes of cross-border cargo, up 10 per cent YoY.
