Canadian breweries jump on the peach beer trend
Breweries across Canada have been adding peach flavours to their beers and have started jumping onto the fast-growing flavour trend. The beers, which have ranged from “fruit sours brewed with peaches” through to “fuzzy peach candy” have been growing in popularity across Canadian craft breweries with the trend anticipated to migrate to other markets. Speaking about the sales spike, British retailer Tescos admitted that fruit beer styles were “Britain’s fastest-growing beer trend” which has continued to gain traction across the UK. Tesco beer buyer Ben Cole recently said: “The soaring demand for fruit-led brews, particularly lager, has taken the UK drinks market by storm and is the biggest trend to hit the beer scene since the craft boom started more than 15 years ago." In data from global drinks analysts, the findings showed that the global fruit beer category size has been estimated to reach US$433.2 million by 2030, expanding at a CAGR of 4.7% from 2025 to 2030. Describing the growing trend, analysts also outlined how “in terms of flavour, the market is bifurcated into peach, raspberry, cherry, apricot, and others”. According to reports from the London Free Press, beer fans across Canada recently came flocking to St. Thomas when Fuzzy Peach debuted as part of Railway City Brewing Co’s Express series of rotating recipes. Other choices from brewers include the new iOTA non-alcoholic wheat and peach juice brew, while Something in the Water Brewing Co has Painted Lake Peach Crisp on the shelves at Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) stores. Similarly, Royal City Brewing Co in Guelph has transformed its Exhibition Session IPA by blending it with its own homemade peach soda to create a peach radler which is also selling at LCBO stores. Other variations are seen as Blood Brothers Brewing Co which has used both peaches and mangos for its latest 6% ABV sour named Paradise Lost. Plus, Lake of the Woods Brewing Co based in Kenora has created a pale ale with peach puree named Sneaky Peach. Other beer trends also circulating include the use of the Strata hop in brewing recipes as well as beer salt being used more readily by drinkers looking to customise their orders. Forther afield, Heineken’s United Breweries Limited (UBL) recently introduced two fruit flavoured Kingfisher beers into the Indian market, while the fruit beer trend was outlined by db as one of the biggest beer trends of 2025.
