How Bosco del Merlo’s Life in Rosé is making a difference
Bosco del Merlo's Delle Venezie DOC Pinot Grigio rosé is not just a wine, it's also a powerful charitable tool for raising awareness about how to live a healthy lifestyle. Part of wine group Casa Paladin, Bosco del Merlo was one of the first wineries in the area of Treviso to support LILT (Lega Italiana per la Lotta Contro i Tumori), which focuses on educating the general public about how to live a healthier lifestyle to reduce their risk of cancer. "This was born as part of the sustainability project for Bosco del Merlo, looking at sustainability not just in the vineyards of in the production process in winery, but also when the wine gets on the tables and it’s shared among people," shares Casa Paladin's Francesca Paladin. "We want our wines to be ambassador of these important values," she continues. "With our rosè we were looking for a project to support women, empowerment, and the pink ribbon association in Treviso (LILT Treviso) is actively doing many activities in these fields. This is how it started in 2018." Part of the proceeds from the sales of Bosco del Merlo's Prosecco Rosé DOC and Pinot Grigio Rosé DOC is donated to LILT Treviso, providing vital support for its efforts to aid in cancer prevention. Since The Life in Rosé project, as it is known, was launched in 2018, some €41,200 have been raised for the cause, including donations to LILT Treviso, and supporting sports and empowerment events. In May of this year, The Life in Rosé team were involved in the 11th edition of Treviso in Rosa, a run through the streets of Treviso to raise money and awareness about the cancer risks faced by women. This followed on from 2024's initiatives, including free breast checkups for the Bosco del Merlo team and fundraising dinners at Osteria dei Cappellari in Rome in October 2024. There was even activity on the other side of the Atlantic, with the Life in Rosé project promoted by the team at drinks distributor Massanois, colouring the streets of New York and Chicago.
