Bojangles Opens First Location in New Jersey in a Former Exxon Station

Bojangles has opened its first location in New Jersey, in a location that was once an Exxon station.

Jersey Digs is reporting that 1000 Stelton Road in Piscataway is open for business. Per a press release, the location opened officially on April 23. This is the first New Jersey establishment, with further eateries planned for Marlboro, Vineland, and Neptune. As part of a big expansion into the Northeast, the corporation plans to open “10 additional restaurants in the Central Jersey region.”

The Asbury Park Press is reporting that the upcoming Neptune location will be placed in a former Coca-Cola bottling plant.

The Piscataway site is close to I-287, Rutgers University, and numerous restaurants and businesses, including Walmart, Dunkin’ Donuts, Wendy’s, ShopRite, Target, Lowe’s, Five Guys, Pep Boys, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, and more.

“Bojangles is a new restaurant to the New Jersey market,” noted Neil Goldstein, Principal of The Goldstein Group. “There are many chicken concept restaurants seeking sites in New Jersey and throughout the country. This will be one of the first Bojangles locations in Northern/Central New Jersey.”

Bojangles Is Now Offering Chicken & Waffles

Customers at the new New Jersey location can place their order for a beloved Southern classic: chicken & waffles.

While the fast-food chain has long been known for its loaded biscuits, this is its first foray into waffles – an unusual move given how rarely waffles appear on fast-food menus.

The fast-food chain’s take on the meal consists of two Bo-Berry-infused waffles (golden brown with deep ridges and a crunchy outside) sandwiching a hot and crispy Cajun filet. The entire dish is drizzled with a delectable Bo-Berry honey sauce, creating the ideal sweet-and-savory Southern morning treat.

Chicken and Bo-Berry Waffles are available all day, seven days a week. Whether you’re searching for a leisurely brunch or a midweek pick-me-up, brunch is available at any time.

“For many people, Sunday brunch has become a highlight of the weekend,” Tom Boland, Bojangles’ chief marketing officer, shared in a press release. “Our Chicken and Bo-Berry Waffles are the ultimate indulgence, whether you’re enjoying brunch with company or treating yourself. We’re making sure guests never have to settle — because brunch should never be put on hold.”
