Bayer boosts maize seed production with new Zambia facility
Bayer has opened a ~$34.78 million maize seed facility in Kabwe, Zambia, tripling its production capacity to support food security. The site will supply high-yield seeds to 6.4 million smallholder farmers in 2024, reaching 10 million by 2030. Bayer plans further ~$38.04 million investments and local community initiatives, including water access and a health centre.
