At the AAAS annual meeting, "anger, uncertainty, and anxiety" about the future of science under Trump.

BOSTON — It was an ambitious theme for a premier science conference: Organizers of the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual meeting pledged “to celebrate and strengthen the projects and collaborations among science, policy, and communication that already exist and promote the infusion of scientific and technical expertise into the public discourse and policymaking.’’
But the conference, which concluded here over the weekend, was anything but celebratory. The unintended theme was the chaos that has engulfed federal health agencies under President Trump.
