THE WHAT? Weleda, a Swiss manufacturer of natural cosmetics, homeopathic, and anthroposophical remedies, is considering producing certain products in the United States to avoid increased customs duties on European goods. CEO Tina Muller said discussions have been ongoing for several weeks.
THE DETAILS According to newly released figures, Weleda achieved a turnover of €456 million in 2024, representing an 8% increase compared to the previous year. Operating profit also rose, more than doubling to €28 million.
THE WHY? Additionally, the company plans to introduce a range of baby, child, and adolescent care products, and it intends to expand its presence on TikTok to reach younger consumers, including Generation Z and Generation Alpha.
