RD Grand Prix Superyacht debut at Monaco
RD Grand Prix, A Superyacht Experience, made a spectacular debut at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix with a lavish 180-foot superyacht party on Friday night. The exclusive event brought together stars from sport, film and royalty, including Sofia Vergara, Robin Thicke and April Love Geary, F1’s Valtteri Bottas, Princess Camille Gottlieb, Evan Ross, NFL legends Tyrod Taylor and Keith Bulluck, and Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath. Guests dined, danced and toasted the start of the Monaco race weekend, setting a high bar for luxury hospitality on the Riviera.

BenMarco dinner at Gaucho Tower Bridge

In London, db’s Jessica Mason attended an intimate BenMarco wine dinner hosted by renowned Argentinian viticulturist Edy del Popolo of Susana Balbo Wines. Held at Gaucho Tower Bridge, the evening showcased Argentina’s diverse terroirs through a curated tasting menu and expert-led discussion, bringing a slice of Mendoza to the heart of the capital.

Luce hosted by Christie’s

To Christie’s to celebrate the 30th vintage of Frescobaldi’s Luce, Montalcino’s original Sangiovese-Merlot. Led by Alessandro Marini (pictured), winemaker at Tenuta Luce, in dialogue with Tim Triptree MW, International Director of Wine & Spirits, Christie’s, the tasting spanned four decades. The youngest, 2022, born of a compressed vintage, offered tension, camphor and roasted chestnut notes. The 2013 showed mint, courgette and freshness; 2006 was lush, forceful, while 1995, Luce’s third release, retained a salt beef savouriness. Triptree announced an online auction (3-17 September) of a single ex-cellar vertical of Luce, including large formats: 1997, 1999, 2003, 2014 and 2022 - plus a vineyard visit and stay for six guests in Montalcino. The evening began with Leonia Éternelle 2014, a saffron-scented, long-less-aged Chardonnay from Pomino, and Attems Cicinis 2023, a textural Friulian Sauvignon Blanc. Christie’s, no stranger to Frescobaldi rarities, famously auctioned the Viaggio d’Oltremare manuscript by Leonardo di Niccolò Frescobaldi in 1995, a vellum account of a 14th-century pilgrimage.
