Introducing music could be highly beneficial to your business and could help to improve the experience for both your staff and your customers. No matter what your business, you want it to run smoothly, but running a successful business is about more than just your day to day operations. It’s about providing an excellent service for your customers or clients. It’s also about encouraging teamwork and supporting collaboration; but most of all, it’s about keeping your workforce focused whilst safeguarding their well-being. That’s why introducing music could be highly beneficial to your business and could help to improve the experience for both your staff and your customers.

Music in the workplace has the ability to create a more energetic and upbeat environment and could help your staff feel more engaged, focused and more positive. But it could also decrease boredom, clock watching and staff turnover.

According to our 2023 survey, 93% of people agree that playing music in the workplace can create a calmer environment and can help to alleviate stress and anxiety. As well as this, it was found that employees feel more motivated and this can help lift the atmosphere at work, leaving people feeling more positive and enjoy work more.

We spoke with The Workplace Depot – a leading industrial workplace that has been nominated twice for Employer of the Year at the Family Business Awards. The Workplace Depot understands how important it is to create a great place to work for its employees and believe that music is an incredibly important part of this, therefore, they use music throughout their offices and warehouse for the enjoyment and wellbeing of their employees.

Warehouse Operative, Mikey Dahdah tells us how music makes a difference to his workday, as he starts off by putting on the radio as “It gives everyone a bit of energy in the morning. I like to play party music, quite upbeat music, just to get ready for the weekend. I feel like it would definitely be a whole different atmosphere at work if there wasn’t any music because obviously it’s just a lot quieter, it just doesn’t feel right.”

For our full interview with The Workplace Depot and more statistics on how music can enhance your customers experience and boost employee satisfaction, you can head to our website for more. If you use, play or perform music in your business or organisation, the chances are you need a music licence.
