The Perfume Shop unveils Mother’s Day sales spike

The Perfume Shop reported a sales boost during the lead up to Mother’s Day this year.

The fragrance retailer saw sales rise 14% year-on-year, with 280,916 bottles sold from 9 March to 30 March.

Additionally, the week leading up to Mother’s Day delivered a 56% hike in sales.

The company’s revenues were driven by a 30% rise in sales of classic perfumes, 3% in new and trending perfumes and a 2% boost in gift sets compared to the year before.

Promotional deals were also popular for the big day, with the website’s busiest day falling on 25 March with a 69% increase in perfume purchases compared to 2024.

Furthermore, 35% of all orders last week formed shoppers using its next day delivery service.

The perfume retailer’s personalisation services delivered more than 43,688 ribbons and 1,091 engraved perfumes during the three weeks leading up to Mother’s Day.



The Perfume Shop customer director Karen Harris said: “Mother’s Day is one of the most special gifting occasions of the year, and we’ve been thrilled to see so many customers choosing perfume to celebrate the mother figures in their lives.

“Perfume is such a personal and lasting gift, and this year’s sales have truly reflected that, with a remarkable uplift in both classic and trending scents.”

She added: “Our personalisation services have also been more popular than ever, showing just how much thought goes into selecting the perfect perfume.

“Whether it’s an engraved bottle or a beautifully wrapped gift set, we’re delighted to have helped so many customers make Mother’s Day extra special this year.”

The Perfume Shop also saw sales surge in the lead up to Mother’s Day last year, with demand for its gift sets doubling.

Sales volume at the brand increased 16% on the prior year’s performance, with 140,000 bottles sold from 3 to 10 March.

Additionally, the retailer witnessed a Valentine’s sales spike this year, with 240,000 bottles sold.
