Schuh cuts 39 jobs amid business restructure
Schuh is set to cut 39 jobs across its head office and stores as part of a wider restructure to trim costs.

Schuh has cut 39 jobs across its head office and stores as part of a wider restructure to trim costs.
The footwear retailer confirmed that it was making redundancies, with some jobs going on a voluntary basis, Retail Week reported.
Schuh president Colin Temple told the publication: “Due to ongoing economic challenges, we recently made the difficult decision to restructure certain areas of our business.
“This restructure includes a combination of voluntary and compulsory redundancies across our stores and head office locations, resulting in 39 roles being made redundant across the whole business.
“We understand that any restructuring exercise brings with it uncertainty, and we are focused on supporting our people during this time,” Temple added.
Job cuts at Schuh were first reported at the end of January when it emerged the business had started a voluntary redundancy process.
It comes as the retailer revealed last November that it had hired 400 employees in its most recent financial year, raising its headcount to 4,369.
Pre-tax profits for the chain rocketed 56% to £21m, up from £13.4m, as UK sales rose 8% to £356m.
