RFK Jr. plans to slash HHS workforce by 25% in massive reorganization
The Health and Human Services Department is set to slash 10,000 jobs and streamline authorities under its secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

WASHINGTON — Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is axing 10,000 people from the agency he leads, saying it will streamline the bloated federal healthcare bureaucracy. But several former agency leaders said they doubt his claim that the Health and Human Services Department will deliver Americans better service with three-quarters of its current ranks.
Kennedy says the plan will save $1.8 billion per year, cut the agency’s 28 divisions by almost half, and prioritize reducing chronic illness.
