Nigeria clears creation of Cotton, Textile, Garment Development Board
Nigeria’s National Economic Council has approved creation of a Cotton, Textile and Garment Development Board to revive the textile industry. The board will operate as a public-private partnership and will be funded by import levies on textiles. Regional offices of the board will open across the six geopolitical zones. It will enhance local production, reduce import dependence and create jobs.
