M&S stores hold walk-in recruitment days following cyberattack

M&S is staging in-store recruitment open days to fill vacant staff positions while its online portal is unable to take applications.

The retailer paused its online recruitment last month following a ransomware attack on its systems in April.

M&S expects online disruption to last until early July while it reboots its programs.

The retailer’s stores have posted on Facebook to promote walk-in open days for “multiple vacancies”, The Grocer reported.

M&S’ branch in Shoreham in West Sussex held one on 28 May, while its Peterborough location is running one on Wednesday (4 June) between 10am and 5pm.

“There is no need to book just turn up in between the timeframe and head to the top floor till points to get signed in and then a member of staff will help you,” the Peterborough store said in a post.

M&S’ Cribbs Causeway store in Bristol, which opened in December, is asking potential applicants to drop off their CV in person. The branch has advertised “a range of great part-time and full-time vacancies available in our Food department”.
