German manufacturing orders drop 7% in January 2025: Destatis
Germany's manufacturing new orders fell 7.0 per cent in January 2025 month-on-month, or 2.7 per cent excluding large-scale orders, according to Destatis. Machinery orders dropped 10.7 per cent, capital goods 11.0 per cent, and domestic orders 13.2 per cent. Foreign demand also declined. Despite this, manufacturing turnover rose 0.4 per cent month-on-month but fell 0.9 per cent year-on-year.
