Montagne de Reims-based Champagne Tsarine has unveiled the first expression in a new prestige collection showcasing the region's terroir.

Champagne Tsarine's Précision prestige collection makes its debut with the release of N°15. The cuvée is crafted primarily (90%) from grand cru and premier cru grapes harvested in 2015, cellar-aged for a minimum of eight years, and incorporates three years of selected reserve wines (10%) from the 2014, 2013, and 2009 harvests. The blend consists of 54% Chardonnay, 41% Pinot Noir, and 5% Meunier, and contains only 4 grams of sugar per litre. The limited edition extra brut cuvée is said to pay tribute to the art of blending.
The year 2015 was characterised by exceptional dryness, with 10 consecutive weeks without rain and intense sunlight. Fortunately, beneficial rains and a drop in temperatures during the latter half of August allowed the grapes to thrive while maintaining their freshness. According to the estate, these weather conditions encouraged a unique aromatic concentration, showcasing ripe fruit aromas in the Chardonnays, enhanced fruitiness in the best Pinot crus, and lively character in the Meunier.
Created by cellar master Isabelle Tellier, Précision N°15 is produced using 100% malolactic fermentation. This yeast-free process converts the tart malic acid in the wine into softer, creamier lactic acid, which is said to result in a wine with a creamy, almost oil-like texture on the palate that contributes to a velvety mouthfeel.
Champagne Tsarine Précision N°15 features aromas of candied citrus fruits, pastry notes, cashew, peanuts, and gingerbread. On the palate, it presents toasted brioche, quince paste, mandarin, and roasted notes. For a perfect pairing, the estate recommends linguine with truffle, grilled lobster, and creamy chicken dishes.
Tellier describes Précision N°15 as "a great wine that fully embodies the spirit of Champagne Tsarine, subtly revealing the finesse, elegance, and unique character of this prestigious collection."
At
the Champagne Masters 2025, the cuvée impressed the judges with its character, being described as "balanced, distinctive, and full of personality." They noted that it is "a wine of high quality," ultimately awarding Précision N°15 a Gold medal.
Presented in a gift box adorned with a white flower, the expression is limited to 7,971 bottles.
Champagne Tsarine was created in 1996 during a dinner between two long-time friends in the Champagne industry, Philippe Baijot and Bruno Paillard. They drew inspiration from a wine decanter with fascinating curves, located next to table N°15, to design a unique bottle that combines polished and frosted glass. The first release of Champagne Tsarine Prestige Collection, Précision N°15, is said to resonate with this founding moment.
