UK retail sales drop 2.7% in May, biggest fall since Dec 2023
UK retail sales volumes are estimated to have fallen by 2.7 per cent month on month (MoM) and 1.3 per cent YoY in May this year, following a MoM rise of 1.3 per cent in April, official statistics show. Sales volumes rose by 0.8 per cent quarter on quarter and 1.7 per cent YoY in the three months to May 2025. The amount spent online fell by 1 per cent MoM and 2.5 per cent YoY in the month.
