Hello everyone! Allison DeAngelis here, coming to you from Boston’s Convention and Exhibition Center, where I just did laps around the BIO exhibition hall in search of the special edition pin for this year’s conference. I’m ashamed to admit that this is my third BIO with STAT, but I only just realized that folks collect these pins and wear them on their lanyards like kids at Disneyland. Sadly, I haven’t managed to find the BIO booth with this year’s pins. Have you? Please let me know where they are or share a photo of the design by emailing allison.deangelis@statnews.com! Until then, my colleague Elizabeth Cooney and I have a dispatch for you.
Is the Chinese NewCo model over?
The BIO conference technically kicks off today, but the activity started over the weekend. On Sunday, I stopped by the BIOCHINA conference in Boston, a small-but-growing offshoot of a Chinese event attended annually by some 30,000 people.
