Ivanhoe suspends underground mining at Kakula following seismic activity
TSX-listed Ivanhoe Mines has temporarily suspended underground mining operations at the Kakula mine, part of the Kamoa-Kakula copper complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), following seismic activity in the eastern section of the mine. Underground operations were halted on Sunday, after seismic events were detected. All employees were safely evacuated, and mobile equipment was removed from the affected areas. No injuries were reported.
