One of New York City’s most esteemed and luxurious hotels, Aman New York, has also become a premiere destination for not only its undeniable hospitality but for its impeccable fine dining, too. Nama at Aman New York’s traditional Omakase dinner is one of the city’s most elevated, decadent, and exciting dining experiences you can find in Manhattan.

Helmed by Chef Takuma Yonemaru, Nama embraces the principles of washoku, offering an elegant tasting experience centered on the finest seasonal ingredients. Translating to “I leave it up to you,” Yonemaru’s Omakase does just that and goes to show that you’re left in very good hands when it comes to the indulging dining experience.

Set within the historic Crown Building, Aman New York offers a serene escape from the city below. From small to large occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and beyond Nama is the ideal spot to celebrate any occasion. The Omakase is served at a Japanese Hinoki wood counter secluded in a private area of the restaurant. The experience begins with excitement as the server brings a tray of beautifully designed chopsticks and sake glasses in an array of colors and patterns, allowing each guest to choose the ones they prefer for their meal. Once selected, the chef starts by introducing his first Otsumami dishes. Otsumami means small, savory snacks that are traditionally paired with alcoholic beverages designed to enjoy at the beginning of your dining experience. Chef Yonemaru created five courses for this portion – Karasumi, Hassun, Amadei, Uni/Kegani, and Kobe Beef. Each of these dishes were elevated with premium touches from caviar to truffle sauce to give it the Aman’s signature luxurious touch.

After the fulfilling and decadent Otsumami portion, the Nigiri round begins, which lasts till the end of the meal with 13 delicious, frill-free courses. Guests enjoy the freshest of fish from Hotate (scallop) to Chutoro (fatty tuna) to Otoro (tuna belly) to Anago (eel) and beyond. After nigiri, guests round out the meal with Temaki (a handroll), Akadashi (a rich and deep miso soup), and two refreshing desserts paired with matcha tea. The menu features a large range of the finest sakes to enjoy with your meal, alongside a series of intricate cocktails, non-alcoholic cocktails, and warm teas. The chef’s menu is ever-evolving, following the seasons and ensuring the freshest of ingredients.

Following dinner, guests are welcome to head down to Aman’s infamous Jazz Club to continue their evening. The Jazz Club is Aman’s take on the quintessential speakeasy bar where you’re welcome to enjoy inventive mixology like cocktails, fine wines, and champagnes alongside small plates and snacks while taking in the live show always performed by world-class entertainment.
The Omakase experience at Nama has two seatings per evening, Tuesday through Saturday, and is only available to hotel guests.
