Incorrect Description of Adverse Childhood Experiences Scoring
In the Original Investigation titled “A Vaping Cessation Text Message Program for Adolescent E-Cigarette Users: A Randomized Clinical Trial,” published in the September 3, 2024, issue of JAMA, a description of an approach to scoring adverse childhood experiences was incorrect. In the Methods section, in the second-to-last paragraph of the Measures subsection, the sentence “Sum of ACEs indicates severity of risk (0-low, 1-3 = intermediate, ≥4 = high)” should have read “Sum of items indicates severity of risk (0 = low, 1-3 = intermediate, ≥4 = high).” This article was corrected online.
