The black-tie affair promises fine wine, meaningful fundraising and the company of 240 drinks industry leaders. The Drinks Trust has announced that Graham Norton (pictured), broadcaster, author and winemaker of growing repute, will co-host its annual Gala on Monday 6 October 2025, at London’s Claridge’s Hotel. He will share hosting duties with Ian Burrell, global rum ambassador and trustee of the Drinks Trust. A familiar figure on British television screens, Norton is also known in oenological circles for his 12-year collaboration with Invivo, the New Zealand winery behind the popular GN wine range. His involvement in both the wine trade and philanthropic causes renders him a fitting figurehead for the evening. “I’m delighted to be joining the trade at this year’s Drinks Trust Gala and lending my MC skills to support such a worthwhile cause,” said Norton. “I’m looking forward to an evening of laughter, fundraising and a well-deserved toast or two!”

An evening of elegance and impact

The Gala will play host to 240 guests, comprising prominent members of the drinks industry, who will gather for an evening devoted to celebration and support. The night begins with a Champagne Taittinger reception, followed by a gourmet three-course dinner devised by Claridge’s acclaimed culinary team, paired, naturally, with GN Sauvignon Blanc. Entertainment and fundraising activities will punctuate the evening, interwoven with personal accounts of the charity’s impact across the industry. All of this will unfold within the hallowed Art Deco interiors of Claridge’s, a venue chosen for both its grandeur and relevance.

Supporting the people behind the drinks

Nicky Burston, CEO of The Drinks Trust, expressed enthusiasm for Norton’s involvement. “We are honoured to have Graham Norton both co-hosting the evening alongside our Trustee Ian Burrell, and supporting with his wine,” she said. “His influence in the drinks industry and his personal passion for supporting people behind the scenes is incredibly meaningful to our cause. This year’s Gala promises to be our most memorable yet.” Norton’s ties to the industry are not merely symbolic. In March 2025, he was named Marlborough’s inaugural “Grape Ambassador” by Mayor Nadine Taylor in recognition of his ongoing advocacy for the region and its flagship variety. He continues to work hands-on with Invivo, personally tasting and blending each GN vintage.

Limited tickets now available

The Gala follows on from previous collaborative efforts between Norton and the Drinks Trust, including the 2022 Great British Pub Quiz, which raised vital funds for the charity. Tickets and sponsorship packages for the 2025 Gala, previously available only to Business Partners, are now on general release, though availability is extremely limited.
