GEKA Continues to Enforce Its IP Rights and Protect Its Customers

Enforcement of Design Rights at Cosmopack 2025

GEKA GmbH, a global manufacturer of cosmetic applicators, has successfully enforced its design rights for its GentleLips® applicator during the Cosmopack 2025 exhibition in Bologna.

GEKA identified unauthorized copies of its highly successful GentleLips applicator — a unique, flocked design featuring a rounded base, a curved waist, and a flattened rounded tip. The GentleLips applicator is protected by European Registered Design EU0007496840002S.

Infringement Incident at the Exhibition

During the event, the companies DONG LIM ENTERPRISE LTD (Korea) and GUANGDONG HUASHENG PLASTIC CO., LTD (China), referred to as the Alleged Infringers, displayed counterfeit versions of the GentleLips applicator at their booths and offered to sell these copies for delivery within the European Union.

The incident was reported to the official anti-counterfeiting service of Cosmopack 2025, represented by Modiano & Partners (Italian IP firm) and Corona Law (Italian law firm).

Upon investigation, the representatives confirmed the presence of the allegedly infringing products. In response, they suggested — as a precaution — that the Alleged Infringers remove the contested items from their booths. The parties complied voluntarily.

The following day, the representatives revisited the booths and confirmed that the infringing products had been removed. No countermeasures or legal resistance were raised by the involved companies.

GEKA’s Ongoing Commitment to IP Protection

GEKA is now turning its attention to further enforcement actions against other infringers. With more than 700 registered designs and 300 patents and pending applications, GEKA actively protects its innovations and intellectual property rights.

To date, GEKA has successfully enforced its rights in dozens of prior cases, safeguarding its own IP and those of its partners and clients.

“Counterfeit products are not subject to GEKA’s quality controls and do not benefit from our warranty,” stated a GEKA spokesperson. “In the interest of our customers, we will continue to take legal steps against all such unauthorized copies.”
