Diddy’s Lawyer Accuses Opposing Counsel Of Depravity

In high-profile cases, the attorneys representing their clients occasionally provide the public with updates on the cases that they’re dealing with. Sometimes they provide these musings even after a judge told them to shut the hell up and focus on their work instead of PR. Other times, the goal is to shame or curb copycat claims launched against their clients. The recent Druski and Odell Beckham Jr. tie-ins to the freakoff lawsuits turned heads, but Diddy’s legal team thinks that the allegations are stomach turning. From HNHH:
Diddy’s team has released a statement slamming attorney Ariel Mitchell, who is representing Ashley Parham in her $50 million lawsuit referencing Druski and Odell Beckham Jr. As caught by AllHipHop, Diddy’s legal team says the complaint “demonstrates the depraved lengths plaintiffs will travel to garner headlines in pursuit of a payday.”
Every person that has been wronged or accused of doing wrong has a right to counsel. But if the Druski and Beckham Jr. fold-ins are actually just money grabs — and the lawyer representing them knew it — there should be consequences. It hasn’t yet been decided if Tony Buzbee’s attempt to rope Jay-Z into the Diddy sexual assault allegations was in good faith. If it was, lawyers make mistakes from time to time. But if it wasn’t, the sanctions and defamation charges Buzbee may get slapped with will hopefully deter the payday pursuing. The strength of Parham’s case could mean that Mitchell could face countersuits aiming to clear Druski and Beckham Jr.’s names.
