Dairy Queen Will Drop a New ‘Superman’-Themed Menu This Week. Here Are the Details

Dairy Queen is partnering with Warner Bros. to release an all-new “Superman”-themed menu featuring both sweet treats and food for superhero fans. The film, which is set to drop July 11, 2025, will be the first in the “Gods and Monsters” DC Universe reboot. Let’s look at what we know about the fast-food chain’s newest offerings.

Dairy Queen Already Has a ‘Superman’ Blizzard Out

According to Parade, the first rumors of a Dairy Queen collaboration with the new “Superman” film came at the top of the month, when a popular food blogger released a preview of the “Superman”-themed Blizzard.

On May 12, the outlet confirmed with a representative that it was, indeed, partnering with the iconic film to launch a themed menu, and the Superman Blizzard — which the company describes as a “sugar cookie dough, cake batter flavor, and sprinkles blended with our world-famous soft serve to Blizzard perfection” — is available as of May 26.

Dairy Queen also recently released “four crispy, seasoned 100% all-white meat chicken strips, sauced and tossed to flavor perfection” as part of the “Spicy and Tangy” Buffalo Sauced & Tossed Chicken Strip Basket, which is served with Texas toast, fries, and a choice of dipping sauce, according to the outlet.

Additionally, as confirmed by Markie Devo, a “$7 Cheeseburger Meal Deal,” which includes a cheeseburger, a side of fries, a drink, and a sundae, will be available at select locations starting on June 23. For an additional $2, customers can choose to upgrade their sundae to a Blizzard.

There’s no word on whether Dairy Queen will release any Krypto-themed items, as “Superman” fans seem most excited about seeing the iconic superhero dog brought to life on the big screen for the first time.

Iconic Location Recently Sold for $1.1 Million

In other Dairy Queen news, an iconic location in North Carolina was recently sold for $1.1 million.

Longtime couple Lacy and Blenda Walters owned the Wilkinson Boulevard shop. In April, it sold for $1.1 million to Khan & Singh Property Management LLC, according to Mecklenburg County property records. However, the Walters ensured that the 78-year-old building at 2732 Wilkinson Blvd. will remain North Carolina’s oldest Dairy Queen.

“I hear it every day,” Lacy said to The Charlotte Observer. “Another company wanted the property and was offering us more money. But we felt like the community had been very good to us over the years, and we owed it to them.”

Tariq Khan, who owns Khan & Singh facility Management in Charlotte, plans to keep the Walters’ promise to use the facility as a Dairy Queen with a few modifications to bring it up to modern standards.

Preston Aaron and his wife Irene owned the franchise prior to the Walters’ ownership; they started the establishment in 1947. The Aaron family is credited with being the “pioneers” in introducing the well-known ice cream chain to the area.

“This community has been very good to this Dairy Queen over the years,” Lacy said. “We certainly haven’t got rich, but I can tell you one thing — it’s been very good to us and we’ve enjoyed being here.”

At the same time, Dairy Queen restaurants are closing several Texas locations.

In April, the popular fast-food chain closed 12 locations, including six in Texas. The restaurants in Hemphill, Jasper, Kountze, Huntington, Longview, Eastman, and Lufkin have all closed. The same franchise owner owns all the locations, even if each shutdown is a unique event.

“The closures are an isolated event, and we refrain from publicly sharing contract terms,” a representative for Dairy Queen said in a statement at the time.
