China levies extra tariffs of up to 15% on imports of US farm products

Responding to fresh US tariffs, China announced yesterday it will slap additional tariffs of up to 15 per cent on imports of key US farm products, and expanded controls on doing business with key US firms. The tariffs will take effect from March 10, though goods in transit will be exempt until April 12. The new US tariff follows a similar 10-per cent US tariff hike on Chinese goods in February.
