On the cobblestone streets of Nantucket, a fresh wave of culinary excitement is quietly building behind the unmarked facade of 20 Broad Street. Opening June 15, Billie’s will introduce a sexy, modern take on the American steakhouse, infusing globally inspired flavors, vibrant design, and a deeply personal ethos into every detail.

Together, they are shaping a high-energy, multi-sensory dining experience with island soul. “There’s something rare about a business run by people who genuinely like each other,” Mignosa says. “It’s a true partnership built on friendship, trust, and a shared vision.”
Though sleek in aesthetic and elevated in its culinary ambitions, the name ‘Billie’s from a place of love. “It’s named after one of our partners’ daughters,” says Rhee. “It felt warm and unpretentious. Like something you want to be part of.” That family-first spirit runs through every aspect of the restaurant. Billie’s also occupies the former Dune Restaurant location, now reimagined through a full-scale renovation to complement its coastal steakhouse identity.
For interiors, forget the traditional steakhouse aesthetic. Rhee comments, “When you think steakhouses, you think dark woods and overstuffed chairs—but we went with warm and inviting, but also funky with gold accents. Expect richly textured interiors, moody lighting, leather booths, mahogany wood, and jewel-tones, all designed to evoke high-style comfort with edge. Guests will enter into two distinct experiences: a buzzy yet intimate martini bar and lounge downstairs for casual bites and cocktails, and a full-service dining room upstairs for lavish meals featuring towering seafood platters, expertly broiled steaks, and imaginative sauces. Rhee adds, “We want guests to walk in and think, ‘Wow, I want to be a part of this.”

After honing his skills at top kitchens in Los Angeles, Rhee rose through the ranks in Las Vegas, with standout posts at N9NE Steakhouse and Estiatorio Milos at The Cosmopolitan. His journey eventually brought him to Miami, where he led and opened the kitchens at Estiatorio Milos and Kiki On The River, a waterfront favorite known for its vibrant energy and fresh seafood. “Nantucket lets me return to what made me love cooking in the first place,” Rhee reflects. “I’m not chasing volume—I’m chasing flavor, refinement, and intention.”
At Billie’s, that means blending his Korean culinary roots with steakhouse tradition—think meat-forward offerings balanced by bold sauces, bright herbs, and vibrant global accents. “We’re doing classics, but turning up the soul,” adds Rhee.
Open for lunch and dinner, Billie’s is designed for long martini lunches and sultry dinners that spill into the night. Guests can expect steakhouse classics with menu standouts include a 42-ounce bone-in Porterhouse with two-pound lobster tail on top, seafood towers, shrimp cocktails, fresh fish, and premium chops—all paired with Rhee’s signature sauces like chimichurri and Korean pepper vinaigrette and elevated sides including whipped potatoes with copious amounts of butter and cream, loaded baked potatoes, and creamed spinach with flair. “My upbringing in LA’s Korean-American community exposed me to bold flavors from a young age,” Rhee shares. “Korean BBQ is naturally meat-centric. But I also bring in influences from Mexican, Mediterranean, and French cuisines.” From steak brushed with herbaceous chimichurri to whole fish sashimi to oysters topped with yuzu kosho or Asian pear mignonette, Billie’s menu celebrates both comfort and creativity. It’s meat, yes—but not just meat and potatoes. We’re having fun with it, but bringing a level of consistency.”
For dessert, enjoy an Insta-worthy, nostalgic moment with a tiered ice cream sundae served tableside, topped with gummy bears, sprinkles, and plenty of caramel drizzle. “It’s whimsical and shareable. Great for families, dates, and especially bachelorettes,” Rhee laughs.
Billie’s martini program anchors the beverage experience. “Very dirty vodka martini, shaken, not stirred—that’s my go-to,” says Rhee. Anna favors Chopin with blue cheese olives. The bar will serve up twists on classics like Old Fashioned and Negronis alongside a wine list curated by seasoned sommelier Joe Snowney. With experience at icons like Straight Wharf and Ventuno, Snowney is crafting a list that leans on boutique producers, expressive reds, and a standout Champagne program fit for celebration.
A raw bar, martini-forward cocktail program, and global bar bites menu will bridge day to night seamlessly. “Between lunch and dinner, the bar will stay open with fun dishes such as tacos, sushi-inspired rolls, and globally inspired small plates,” Rhee adds. “We want guests to pop in after the beach or linger late into the evening.”
For Anna and Rita, Billie’s is more than a restaurant—it’s an expression of gratitude to the island community. “Nantucket has this special kind of hospitality,” says Anna. “People here ask who you are, where you’re from. We want to honor that.”
Whether you’re in for martinis and oysters, a celebratory steak dinner, or a post-beach bite of sushi and tacos from the late-night menu, Billie’s is made to adapt to every occasion. Rhee adds “We want it to feel like the place you come to celebrate life. The way we envision everything with Billie’s is big flavors, big portions, and having a great time with it.”
Billie’s is set to open June 15 with lunch and dinner daily, with hours extending until midnight and the bar will be open until 1 a.m. Seasonal plans may include weekend brunch and private events. The restaurant welcomes buyouts and celebrations, and will be a natural fit for rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, memorable family gatherings, and unforgettable nights out.
