THE WHAT? Argentina has eliminated export duties on over 4,000 manufactured goods, including cosmetics and personal care products, as part of a broader move to boost industrial exports.
THE DETAILS Economy Minister Luis Caputo announced that 4,411 industrial products will no longer be subject to export taxes ranging from 3% to 4.5%, effective immediately. The change is expected to benefit approximately 3,580 companies—nearly 40% of the country’s exporters.
Products now exempt from export duties include cosmetics, personal care formulations, glass packaging, pumps, plastic components, insecticides, and other items with high added value.
While sectors such as iron, aluminium, and petrochemicals remain taxed, cosmetics and pharmaceutical preparations are among the key categories that will see reduced trade costs. The eliminated duties previously applied to nearly US$3.8 billion worth of exports recorded in 2024.
